  • It's an English International standard thread, which is what Americans and BMXers call 'euro'. I'm currently running a set of BMX cranks in my bike, and I'm using an odyssey euro bottom bracket.

  • I have DMR cult cranks cranks with a Euro bb which I need to change the bearings on.
DMR told me I need 6804 2RS which I ordered, but 6804 4RS arrived instead. The shop told me they don't do 4RS and it seems that the measurements for both are the same at 20x32x7
The ID of the 2RS bearings that are in my cup are 19mm and the blurb for cult cranks says ID of 19mm also. But the bearings in there are 2RS which are 20mm.
To add to this, it looks like the bearings don't come out of the cup. You can hardly see the metal on the outer part so they look well bedded in, which would lead me to believe you just need to replace the whole cups.
However Winstanleys Cult BB kit has just the bearings.

    Anyone any ideas about this?

If I do end up just buying a Euro BB, and recommendations on mid level brands?

  • the bearings will deffo come out.

  • if you can take one out and measure the od, id and width and google will help.
on a side note the 2rs is just the seal type the important bit is the "XXXX" bit.

  • Thanks Brucy. I'm wondering how you get them in without damaging them!
Will get a hammer to them. Cheers.

  • A reply from DMR tells me that although they told me the bearings are 6804, and the bearings say 6804, they are custom bearings (because they're made in the middle east) with a 19mm ID.
    I bought a new bb.

    Meh.

  • sometimes easier.
