Freecycle: Low pro or straight frame?

  • Hoping to build my own fixie soon, need more information!

Discussion of your opinions on both sorts of frames/bikes

    What would you prefer?

    Advantages and disadvantages?

    etc..

  • Why is this in freecycle?

  • You should get one of the new foffa hi pro frames. they are the shit

  • depends on your use. Every day use, medium to long distance, low pro can be hard on wrists depending on your setup. It's harder to find good and fair priced front wheels for low pros as well.

They look cool tho but my personal preference goes to straight frames. Take a Colnago Master, Mercian, E Merckx, etc u can't go wrong.

  • ^ Why are you giving practical advice?

kinda tried to reply to the different questions asked: a) Discussion of your opinions on both sorts of frames/bikes b) What would you prefer? c) Advantages and disadvantages?

  • yeah, we all see what you did, but why?

  • I'm kind of new here so maybe I am missing a trick but a guy starts a thread and asks a question and... I reply. I can't honestly fault the logic in there. feel like complete noob now tho so I must be getting something wrong...

  • Indeed very helpful. The only thing I can fault is, a lopro can be quite comfortable for longer rides, and can also be alot of fun. It's all down to personal trial and error, like saddles, different frames & geometries suit different peoples, differently....

  • Fair enough Malaysian, I can't disagree to that.

ps: I am not against low pros!

Thank you mate, much appreciated. I think I might just get a track frame. Dolans are look pretty nice and are light. I need it to go school with, it takes 25 minutes with bus... Low-pro/straight frame? Still kinda confused haha

  • I do LOVE the look of low pros though, hmmm

  • I'm also quite new to fixed gear bikes btw..
