Think it all depends on attitude.
When I first joined, I never UTFS, and seemed to get on people's nerves a bit by asking silly questions.
Now I've been on a few rides & to some beers, I've realised its more than a website and/or "Ask Tester", but a group of great people with loads of collective knowledge + good laugh too.
I think a newbie could be converted to a useful and welcomed member by heading to beers or going on a ride or two.
