  • Or use wider rims that are closer in width to the 'fat' tyres. 29mm is not exactly fat and in real terms they could be around 26 or 27 dependant on which big, fat lying tyre company they come from.

    Looks like Hed C2 rims, so 23mm. I'd go for something bigger if I were definitely always going to ride big tyres, but the C2 will work well with common road race tyres so it's more versatile. I think Hampsten tends to favour Riv tyres, maybe these:

    which probably do come up to a genuine 29mm on the C2 rims if that measurement was taken on a 20-21mm rim.
