There are some guys out there who know how to stop sans brakes 'n' retention...

that's the true side of the story, though.

Saw a guy today with front spok, no brakes, no foot retention. Don't know how you can justify a £400 wheel and not spend £20 on some retention, when that wheel's the first thing to go when he plows into something.

looks like a big gear to overpower as well, monster chainring. i wouldn't be riding it downhill without retention or brake

:)) well my previous build had a 52 14 and managed to stop so this is easy ......You Never Do..i like to go fast kinda like a nascar driver
the handelbar and stem weigh little over 300 grams so that is the reasoning behind it ( i am a bit of a weight weenie with a flite carbonio and slicker tyres it will go to about 6.8 kg ) .. i still have the original handlebars tho... anyway thanks for the interest :D
