  • That's a (relatively) cheap way into Rohloff ownership.

    Their carbon XC 29ers are interesting too. They look like Cervelo R5 hybrids.

    Wrong thread. But I really liked this. Plenty wont I suppose.

  • ew no

  • That is horrible.

    I get massively annoyed at their downtube graphics. Is it supposed to be read clearly by the rider? Because everyone else reads 'KOOL'.

    Which isn't cool.

  • I read NUJL actually.

  • Re: all this rack talk, I have this: http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/alloy-front-carrier-cantilever-boss-mounting-black-alloy-prod14021/

    And I just bolted it to my forks with my canti bolts. Relatively simple. Took a bit of tinkering to get it all working right, but I haven't touched it since in thousands of miles.

  • And it's cheap-cheep. And slightly bent, thanks to some airport baggage handlers.

  • Also in relation to the rack talk, I have a Basil which was pretty cheap, and I chopped the rear or upright part down a bit which reduces weight a little.

  • Thanks for the rack advise on the last page, it's to fit this

    with a calliper brake.

  • Salsa minimalist?

    Not cheap though.

  • Not cheap and it sit quite far forward, which is fine if your bike doesn't have that much of a slack geo.

    edit, this is what I mean;

  • Do you have a price range? Looking for something in particular? Chunky? Sleek? Colour? Load-bearing ability?

  • Not cheap and it sit quite far forward, which is fine if your bike doesn't have that much of a slack geo.

    I cant see why it would need to be that far forward. All the attachment arms are adjustable.

    I have those forks on the bike I have the Basil on . I used to have a Blackburn rack that attched to the lowrider bosses on them.

  • Regarding rear rack, would those be a solution? it's designed for the fork, but could be retrofitted for the rear;

  • Only "about" 21g more than that nice Nitto. But it does look like ass.

  • They look fine, only concern is the lack of adjustment (as far as I can see).

  • I looked at it myself. I dont like the fact that it only mounts on the canti mounts. Seems like it would pivot and bend forward to me.

  • Reckon like most small rack, can only sustain a certain weight.

  • True, but you'd want it mounted to the fork bridge as well I think.

    TBH it looks like something you could bodge yourself.

  • Looks to me like it can be mounted on (or under) the fork bridge: has the same attachment extras as every other Blackburn copy.

  • anyone here used a cetma rack??

    tempted to drop the dollar, but interested to see if they're as good as they look....

  • They are.

    If you're looking for reasonably priced and weighted porteur rack, check the Gamoh porteur.

  • I had an early Cetma. Seemed solid, but ugly welds and heavy; the stays used for mine were the standard Wald units that come with their racks (Laine makes his own now).
    He is a pleasant guy to deal with, forthright and true.

    edit, this is what I mean;

    yeah but they're adjustable in 3 different places no? so surely can be pushed back a bit
