  • ...roberts owners thread anyone?

This HAS to happen, and yes that Roberts is a beaut, nice job Eamesy

  • My Roberts is 100% finished.

Steerer and seatpost cut down and shot hub bearings replaced by the guys at TFG. Took me 4 months to get the steerer cut down but I wanted to make sure everything was spot on first. Which it is now.

Lovely. Very jealous. Don't show it to JG - he will want to buy it and add to his red Roberts collection

  • Beautiful. I'mma porn this.

    Thanks everyone!

And... check this for all your Roberts needs.

  • What size is the frame? Provisional dibs if you ever get bored of its svelte lines and deep, lustrous colour.

  • A gravity defying wheel, built it yesterday in anticipation of some nicer weather, on the bike and off for a test run

I know ;) working on the front one now, because I want to keep it intact and so need to buy a new rim £150 in hand it'll be the next thing to buy

  • Have to ask, since you got a Phil front in the first place, which are known for being durable, why gone for a track hubs on the rear instead of a matching phil?

  • Ah sorry it's a goldtec, not as cool, but I'm getting a Nagasawa frame and am going all japanese

  • Excellent, don't forget to install Brakeless for the full jap experience.

  • oh no his seat post is bent

    cross thread echo

Yeah I think ill give that one a miss

  • how do you find the durano plus'? do you ride it in london?

  • 27C Challenge Paris-Roubaix on Mavic TN719- opinions on running these tubeless with Stans sealant in order to avoid pinch flats on the Paris-Roubaix in June?

I've got an idea Neil, why dont you just run things as they are ment to be used? If you go tubless with them and you get a puncture, you'll have to use a normal tube anyways.

Now stop being fucking stupid and come ride your bike with the people you are suppost to be riding with.

  • ^^ I ride a fair bit in London but mainly use this on longer rides in Essex. They're 25c which makes them plenty comfy although they don't roll as fast as the Challenge Fortes I had on there. Prefer the Duranos over Paselas (which I tried before the Fortes) though and haven't punctured in 1000 miles.

Normally you would have the leading spokes on the inside of the hub flange and the trailing spokes on the outside, as it's slightly stronger, but I doubt it'll make any practical difference.

Hey- I don't want to slow us down on the ride, I think that's acceptable.

You out on Sunday? I'll give them a whirl then if so.

  • That's hell of an overprice though.

    £166 here: http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/sp/road-track-bike/Chainsets-Track-Campagnolo-Record-Pista-Track-Chainset/CAMPCHAT200

    That frame is awesome.

A hairdryer will help with removing the rim stickers.

I reckon these or similar would suit it nicely.

Thanks guys, that makes it a bit more do-able and just the kind of thing I'm after

  • It's Paris-Roubaix ffs, puncturing is part of the experience alongside crashing and bone jarring cobbles.

Damn I was so happy I had got the valve in a rectangle and in line with the logo, next time ill do that

and you'll get covered in sealant!
