bit of a digression, but anyone ever tried one of these....
I remember them from the early 90's but have not seen them since,
As I recall they use a sturmey shifter to engage pins in your freewheel pinning the sprocket to the body - very elegant....
presumably you need to be spinning pretty smoothly to shift from free to fixed!If you can get hold of one, they can be fitted to any track hub.

I have a NuVinci n360 at home for a utility bike. I was reading the instructions, and it struck me that if the freewheel could be removed. You could have a 360% endless fixed gear range. Fecking heavy thing to put on something as minimal as a fixed gear bike though.
