The rear wheel is 126mm spacing so your friend would need to spring the frame by 3mm on either side - not difficult or damaging as long as the frame is steel.
Front - Weinmann concave rim on Maillard hub. 36-spoke. 110mm
Rear - Mavic CXP33 rim on Shimano Sora hub with spacer set. 32-spoke. 126mm
