bit of a digression, but anyone ever tried one of these....
I remember them from the early 90's but have not seen them since,
As I recall they use a sturmey shifter to engage pins in your freewheel pinning the sprocket to the body - very elegant....
presumably you need to be spinning pretty smoothly to shift from free to fixed!
If you can get hold of one, they can be fitted to any track hub.
