So I think we can call this ride a big success and I'll plan to do it next year - all they have to fix is the weather and you luddites need to get Garmins.
I think the smaller sportives like this are better than the big ones, you don't need photography and other nonsense, and there aren't any queues for food or hanging around at the start.
