Nice day today. Shame to only get 3 noobs, but if one comes back it'll have been worth it.
Claudbutler showed some flashes of brilliance today. Nice strong and direct passes, nice shots etc etc. Gunja has some competition for that fanny pack.

Stu, asim, lucas, monty, sarah, si and anybody else who wants a copy of the minutes from last night's meeting, can you PM me your email address and I can pass them along.
Thanks EMM but bit busy with Speedway and everything else to 'get involved' with polo as more than an occasional attendee at the moment!

Hey guys. Oz from Cardiff here. We're having a bit of a gathering down at our indoor court, Manchester are planning on coming down with at least 3 guys and Bristol usually have a few guys over too. I would be really good if some of you could also come down.
The court costs us £20 p/h so depending on the amount of people it can cost somewhere between £5 and £10 for 4hrs.

Hey Oz, the court sounds great. When you thinking?

Manchester mentioned next weekend. A bit last minute but I only found out earlier today when I was talking to Chan. They're going to Bristol on the Friday then Cardiff on the Saturday

• #2082
Ah okay. Those of us who are usually up for traveling work on Saturdays and play polo on Sundays but might be a few people up for it... The Friday sounds tempting actually.

• #2083
Yeah, still trying to get everything organised. Lucky I was up in Manc to talk to them this weekend.

Any newish players after a frame? I found one by the side of the road yesterday that might be suitable for polo (if you have welding skills). Info in 'Trades + Sales'

Rural Pub Crawl/30th Birthday 21st April
All polo-ists welcome. The plan is to start at Danzey Green train station at noon, walk between 3-4 pubs and end at the Coach and Horses (Wetheroak) around 6pm. If you want to come on the walk, it's probably best to let me know and get a cab with us from my place around 11.30am. If you want to come to the last pub, just ride there and meet us.

For a minute there I thought this clashed with Sunday polo....

re: next meeting. we said we'd have this at my house. will it be straight after polo or in the evening?
-
• #2089
I'd prefer post polo, but I can do either.

• #2090
I don't think I'll be around guys but nothing much has changed my end bar a sparring of emails between me and the council. Headed off to Brooks on Weds so we'll see what happens... will send a message before the meeting with details.

Cool, thanks MG.
Do we know who is going to Cambridge yet? It's just over a month away...
It's looking like there will be another UKHBPA meeting, so I will need someone to sit in for me again. I've raised the issue of how many meetings there are actually going to be, because if there are a lot then I'm not the best person for the job.
I can keep abreast of things on the forum, but I can only make 4(ish) tournaments per year.
Any volunteers?

I'm going to Cambridge but I don't think we reached a decision on teams. I'll play with the Warins hopefully if Stabbath go. I'll try and sit in on the meeting in regards to the tournament but Brum obviously need a proper rep. Dan, I don't think you should stand down as personally I think you have the most experience in terms of play and being known in the community and you've done a good job so far. In your absence, Finlay is probably the only other person who's been involved in Euro's discussion so far and has the knowledge to discuss further polo issues such as rules, the worlds, UK camps etc...

Sorry Matt, I didn't see your list (on the train). Andy said he's up fir it too. If Find can make it, maybe you should play ad BS instead of IP if you are serio!us about the euros

+1 you guys need the practice together, and it'll get Black Stabbath more NS points. You have to get better than 9th though....

Freecycle - 3pmh/perros mallet. Head is quite worn and shaft a bit bent and the grip needs re-fixing, but it's better than lots of people's rubbish and it's free.
Will bring tomorrow - dibs here if you want it.

Anyone want to do a bike check?
Good work on the minutes EMM - I've made Hyper and MG admins on birminghambikepolo.com already, so I think that's all my work done. Aaaaaaand relax.
Custom polo bike for sale - £400 so not cheap, but lots of bling and mega-tight geo
