Can you Kindly provide some more details?
are the wheels 27 inch or 700c?
Make of hubs? fixed free ?
rear drop out width?do you have the rear brake caliper and lever?
Provisional dibs depending on answers to the above.

thos wheels and beautiful.

wheels are 700cc, hubs are made by airlite
http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/airlites.html
I do not have the rear brake, I do however own a pair of alternate GB brakes, but condition is not as good.
As i said in the listing the rear hub is flip flop so one side is currently fixed gear, the othe side is unassigned and can either have another fixed gear on it or a single speed cog, I also have one of these that I have not attached yet.
I will need to measure rear drop out tomorrow, as the bicycle is currently in my workshop.

it's not a track bicycle
it doesnt have track ends, correct - but it can still be used on a track and is set up as such currently..hence the title.

^That still wouldn't make it a track bike to be fair...

I just want to sell the bike. If i wanted a discussion i'd be in another part of the forum. I know exactly what the bike is, the word 'track' is simply there to attract more viewers.I said earlier it is set up like a track bike without track ends, so please could everyone restrict there comments to 'dibs' or other related comments involved in buying the bike.

More viewers who will then not buy it because it is not a track bicycle.
So what is the point? -
• #11
you can't get away with saying it's something when it clearly is not. i think it should be described correctly and we can all decide if we want to buy it.
i could have been really looking for a 1947 holdsworth road frame and thought oh well if it's a track frame then it's no good for me.
it's a very nice bodge together of some very nice parts.

So what is the point?so you wanna buy it then? if you don't wanna buy please do not leave comments on my for sale thread. i'm not gonna answer now unless someone has a serious interest/question on the bike.

can we get past the title of the thread?i've already accepted that it doesn't have track ends and explained why the thread is titled as such. I cannot edit the title of the thread unless I wanna do a whole new thread.
The bike is very definitely not a bodge of any kind. its set up in much the same way as a la quelda 'special' club.

when i say bodge i mean road frame made into something it is not. thats only my opinion though.

To be fair, the above link shows the exact same thing straight from the factory...

Great looking bike. Fixed gear yes, track no, does it matter, not really. Oh, and obligatory top tube length question.

I love the seat cluster, whoever bought that got a decent frame by the looks of it, and repainted by the appropriate person too.
For sale is my Holdsworth Laquelda from 1947
frame size is 56 centre of chainset to entrance of seatpost
currently set up as a fixed gear, but can be altered on the flip flop hub with a single speed cog.
spec is as follows.
fiamme tubular rims on airlite hubs (rear hub bolted/front alloy wingnuts)
GB hinduminium stem
GB courer front brake and brake lever
alloy track bars from the same period, i cannot remember the brand now as it is under the bar tape. they do date from the 40's.
new bartape (velox)
Ta specialities cyclotouriste chainset with 42 tooth chainring
maillard alloy pedals with toe clips
brampton chain
new continental tubulars
birmalux seat post
Brooks Professional saddle with the smaller copper rivets
The frame is newly resprayed and is otherwise spotless apart from a small area of the 'o' on the holdsworth decal that I took off when constructing the bike.
wheels have been also newly constructed.
