Does someone want to buy my awesome Ridley at the newly reduced price of £540 before I get it all muddy riding 'The Hell Of The North' on it at the weekend?
-
• #8
Still not sold?
Running 105t as opposed to what comes stock is it not?
-
• #9
Yep - upgraded to 105 10 Speed from stock Tiagra 9 when I bought it (I'm a snob).
Super slick shifting - actually lighter action and better ratios than my SRAM and Campag bikes.
Why am I selling this?
-
• #10
because you bought a hybrid?
-
• #11
Err yes.

• #12
Want want want. Need need need. No $$$$.

I have the 56cm version of this frame and its great - certainly the comfiest alu frame I've owned. Thats a bargain price up there.

The Ridley in action at the Hell of the North on Sunday:
The bike was faultless on the 100k route - excelled on the rough stuff and was remarkably rapid on the road too.

So who really wants this bike but thinks the frame might be a touch too small for them?
I have the same Ridley Crossbow frame, a year newer and a size bigger. It has a slightly different paintjob and it is too big for me.
So, if I could ask for the blessing of the original poster......
If you want to buy Mikey5000's Crossbow and think it might be a bit small I would be happy to do a straight frame swap (i keep my bits, you keep Mikey's bits). I work in a place that has all the tools to do this (not quite a bike shop...) and so if someone wanted to actually disassemble then reassemble a bike themselves (for free) alongside me one weekend (I have headset presses, reaming tools if need be and so on...or we could just leave the headset & BB as is) then i'd be happy to do that.
This was also bought at Pearsons in Sutton.
Finally, it also has been through the same water as Mikey's:

So - to summarise - if you are 5' 10 - 6' ish and want a cross bike for just over £500 buy mine - if you're a bit bigger than this buy my bike and swap it with Fausto!
Big nod to the Photographer - Steev - full flikr set here:

Surprised this hasnt gone yet
-
• #21
I'm happy to hang on to it for a bit actually - full guards and 32c tyres and 20 gears are actually really handy for the current weather conditions.
Also my Tripster's not coming for a few weeks...
-
• #22
I wish this were a little bigger. A quality bike for a bargain price.
-
• #23
did you see the offer above about swapping the frame?
-
• #24
Yes. It'd be for a friend who's sadly
a/ 6' 2'
b/ not in London to do the frame-swap -
• #25
Ok - I've not been putting this about for a little while as my replacement steed was delayed.
Now it's arrived and my Ridley is STILL FOR SALE - need shed space urgently.
Rode it yesterday to remind myself how great it is - and it is really great.
So it's payday - treat yourself - buy my awesome, light, strong, versatile and quick RIDLEY.

Ridley sizing is a bit odd – 52cm officially – but frame has 56cm Seat Tube CTT, 53.5cm Top Tube
From the Ridley sizing chart:
Min. legsize 84,7 cm /Max. legsize 87,8 cm
Bodylength (Belgian for Height?)(approx.) 176 cm
I'm 5' 10" and it fits me perfectly.
This is a great Belgian cyclocross bike which doubles as a brilliant Sub 10kg fast commuter – eyelets for full mudguards and a rack, clearance for 35c tyres if you need them but looks and rides great on 23c in the Summer.
Very handy on and off road – new Cyclescheme Cross bike forces sale.
Cost £1000 two years ago so I'm asking £535 now.
