Well, if you can save up a little more for a Dolan Seta, it'll fit you (and I) better (150mm headtube compared to the Precursa's 130mm).

From my understanding of your Mercian's sizing, you could get away with a 56cm frame (with 55cm TT).

My Dolan is a 56 believe it or not (you're right I ride 55cm TT). But the short ST and HT make it look tiny set up for me.

It rides fine as it is and it's really only for commuting and rides that I can't take the Mercian on so I can get over it looking a bit ugly.
