• Looking for a rear wheel or wheelset 126 to run a 6/7 speed setup.

Gonna be touring on them so a tough rim would be great (a119?) but if they're 36h then could be a bit more open to suggestion.

Only gonna be running 700 x 27 tyres so no need to be touring specific.

Budget is tight so hopefully you'll realise you've got something in the shed!

Cosmetics is of little importance but function is everthing.

    Thanks.

  • I've got a cracking set of older Rigida rims on high flange Maillard hubs, 36 stainless steel spokes front & rear and there's a maillard 6 speed (14-32) touring freewheel on there as well in great shape. I've just had some handbuilt wheels made up with NOS hubs & rims so these are being usurped on one of my older bikes.
They run very nicely indeed, no play at the axle, no dings & the braking surfaces have had very light use. The rear needs a minor tweak which I'll probably do anyway but it isn't any great shakes in any case.

hit me up with an email for piccies if of interest
Oh, there's some 28mm Michelins plus tubes also if you want them, very useable with loads of tread but cracking at the sidewalls a bit

  • I have sucessfully got a 126mm spaced frame out to 135mm. But it was a bendy raleigh. If you are willing to try I have a wheelset. a119's on deore hubs.
