Check the other pages on that Halfords offer, page 3 has a B17 standard in black for £64.99 and a B17 standard in honey for [just] £54.99.
I'm interested in joining in your deal but I don't know enough about Brooks to make a decision on which saddle would work best for me.
What is the difference between a standard and a special?
I prefer the look of the swallow or the swift but assume I can cut down the B17 to look a like??
Cheers
Sorry for being a newb....

The special has thicker leather and copper rivets, looks better, possibly lasts longer.
You can definitely cut them down, and safely, if you're under 80 kgs or so. -

I think there's a thread called "skully chops" which goes into this. I have a b17 standard and special. The rivets on the standard I find uncomfortable without padded shorts, so I'm going for a special as this is for my commute/town bike.

i'm in on this deal. a black one.

Brooks are getting expensive, so don't get yours nicked! Put a chain on it, and stamp your name on it.
IMHO chopping down B17s is a bit risky, they tend to sag rather quick.

BTW The B17 Specials are really comfy, I like mine a lot.

If you follow that link in the OP then you have Zebra SS video recording sunglasses as the first item- has anyone seen a review of them?
I quite like the idea.

It's the B259 SS, not that wide at 51cm.

Thanks, can't PM yet as I've just joined, but will do in 24 hours.

I was looking into a cheap B17 standard myself. For folks in Ireland, Cycleways in Dublin do them for €69

The ladies ones are so short! Only buy one if you plan to ride slightly upright. I'm 5'6" and absolutely couldn't make the B17 ladies work on my fixed bike.

Well, Halfords have messed him around and now Texas appears to have stopped responding to PM, so I have just placed an order for 3x Black Brooks Special. Two of these will (fingers crossed) go to forumengers for the bargain price of £50.
If everything goes to plan, I'll collect them on Wednesday from the Old Kent Rd store.
I want a Brooks B17 Special in black for the bike I'm restoring and was searching online for the best deal. Halfords were almost the best (£75) but they are offering 3 for 2 on "selected bike accessories", including this saddle. If two others join me in a group purchase, I will only spend £50 on a nice saddle. They appear to be available in black only.
If you want to team up for this bargain, send me a PM. With luck I'll collect in store over the weekend. You can collect evenings from Camberwell or working hours from Euston. Since list seem to be the main purpose of the forum, I'll start a list for those who'd like to team up. But send us a PM if you're in too.
Oh and there are 2 other items at the same price (Kryptonite NY D lock, Shimano SPD pedals) if that floats your boat, or I'll order you anything costing <= £75 for £50 from the list (or indeed over £75 and give you a £25 discount)
3 for 2 items
