Even today most heavy oil engines are based on the Doxford (sunderland) designed/built engine. At uni my 1st year halls (lower quality than the average 1950s prison) were built on the forge site :(
at work I have this exact same machine :) Everything is still bang on with it, and its at least 40/50years old.
