^ Whilst I agree that science is amazing, it annoys me that the money (it has been dubbed the most expensive medical procedure in history) was used for someone who "shot himself in the face by accident". He has no life threatening conditions etc.
All that money could have been used to aid people in the US without insurance who have curable diseases or need immediate medical care.
It's just a bit vain.
It's pioneering work (with specific funding), and this guy was suitable. You're saying that they shouldn't make medical history because in your eyes the patient doesn't deserve it?
