  • What a great tournament.

Amazing weather, good location, the court surface was possibly the best i've ever played on, so smooth and free of bobbles, but also so incredibly grippy, like a super super fine grade of sandpaper.

The boards weren't so good, the railings around the edge were pretty sketchy, the top railing overhung the lower ones, and there were gaps in the railings so i managed to catch my bar arm on the top railing at the speed which was painful.

One court was downs sized, the other mitch sized or bigger. The bigger court was exhausting in the heat..

For a tournament where the organisation seemed relaxed, it ran very smoothly. However some more solid reffing was needed (Pique and Alejandro did a great job, more than once there was a request for an English ref).

We went out in an unfortunate turn of events to Manguis, we were up by one goal at the end of the 12mins, but the scorekeeper/ref had fucked up, making it look like we were tied, then conceding on golden goal we "lost". Manguis, knew the result wasnt right so, chivalrously offered a re-match, which we went on to lose 5-3.

    Thanks Madrid! Thanks Kings!
