Dolan or leader??

London-Paris is 280 miles.

I think dan's right – whatever bike you ride you'll be wanting something 'more comfortable'. A track frame is far from ideal.

It's quite a lot further than 50miles to Paris.. plus I find that I can ride most bikes 50-60 miles - it's only once you get to 100+ that you start wishing for a more forgiving ride.

Point being that getting past the 100 mile barrier wasn't really an issue, I wasn't left wishing that I had done the ride on another bike, and I'm sure if I was fit enough I would have happily got back on it the next day and done it again

What I've learnt from this thread is; Leaders look shit and 'scoble is one condescending, boring cunt!

So headtube is smaller and steeper, as well as the seat tube, and a longer top tube than the Precursa.

Comfortable eh?

Fair point, I'm probably overstepping the mark talking about riding all the way to paris on one of these. I should have left it at the fact that it's easy enough to go over 100 miles on one of these without unreasonable amounts of discomfort.

I agree with all of that. Though the harder you push – the more those aches and pains magnify. Winter training mile ≠ always comfortable.

To the flouncing - not much to escape from while sat in a car.

I'd quite like one of the dolans to be honest. they're nice looking bikes and you can build one up quite light for not a lot of money.

The only reason I sold my track bike was because of my knees - I worry I'd buy another track bike and ruin my knees again.
