Stolen 70s celeste Bianchi

Haven't posted here in years, but got a special plea for you all..

My work friend's daughter had her bike pinched this morning from
outside BHASVIC college on Dyke Road. It's pretty distinctive, and it
would be great to find it..

It's a 70s BIANCHI, gents road frame, CELESTE COLOUR, SAME COLOUR BAR TAPE.. Covered in all that sexy retro patina.. Got one
of those distinctive angular 3TTT stems and old Campag down tube
shifters etc.

Has some numbers stamped on the headtube - 7c075...

I've attached a picture, but please note that the bar tape is now the
same colour as the frame!

I may be rong but on my way to syds bikes on Portland road I saw a guy riding a bike the same colour as this. Only thong I thought was funny was he wasn't riding in the clips and didn't really look like he should be on it, his friend that looked homeless had a shitty mountain bike.

Just a thought I don't want to get any ones hopes up

Have been keeping an eye out for this - walked up St James St today but didn't see it.

I live off Portland Road so will keep my eyes open after the post by Nzbro.

Out of interest, where do bikes stolen in Brighton tend to end up? Second bike shops or somewhere like Cash Converters?

Worth trying the second hand shops at the open market and G Whizz in Hove. They may have been offered it. Check gumtree as well I guess?

I've always assumed that our stolen bikes mostly end up out of town.

There's surely at least one professional bike fence who can buy stuff up and move it out of town, but seems to me that it would be too hard to keep that up if you were re-selling into Brighton.

On the other hand, I've never really been sure how much theft there is.. I see a lot of kicked in wheels, but of the people I know with nice bikes and decent locks, not many have gone missing.

Liam works at G-whizz so can keep an eye out there. I'll post it on FB and keep an eye out.

just incase anybody sees me riding around on the same frame, converted to fixed, thats not the bike you are looking for... mine is a lot bigger too...

If you don't then even if you find the person with it their word is as good as yours.

A crime reference is essential for getting a bike back even if the police don't even try to look for it.
