Hi
I am having to sell many of my beloved rides, I have osteo arthritis in my knee and hips and it has been getting much worse lately, so much so that I cant get my leg over .....waiting for all the comments on that !!
Am selling to help fund my new easier to mount rides
First up is my Raleigh Grand Turismo 250 ,5 speed ,these are quite rare and I believe were made between 1958 and 1962 as they do not appear in the catologues of these dates
The frame is almost the same as the Gran Sport with the wrap around seat stays , it comes with campagnolo gran sport rear mech , campag shifter ,campag pump pegs ,williams cottered chainset ,also GB allrounder bars and GB brake levers, the only things that have been changed over the years are the stem as it developed a crack and snapped ,saddle as it came with a brooks B72 but that got nicked !
I do not think the wheels are original but are sturmey archers 27 1 1/4 from a later dated raleigh ,replaced the weak GB sprite callipers with weinmanns as the originals didn’t stop the bike
Headset just been cleaned and fitted with new bearings, new tyres and cables all round
Paintwork all original and with no major rust issues ,have just removed the chain and chain guard for cleaning
Measures seat tube c-t 21.5 “ ,top tube c-c 22.25”
