Sorry ladies, my bad. I didn't look properly and assumed it was the same as the one on my wife's Giant Dash. In fact it's nothing of the sort. Hers has got one of these.

Yes. Two Wheels Good Crouch End has one. I don't know of any in central but would guess any large Evans would?

I have a Gusset saddle and though it took a bit to get used to as my first road saddle it's been beautiful, really comfy for reasonable distances at least. Sorely tempted by the tartan version, but ended up being boring.

Switched to Brooks B17 and am happy. Have I said that before? Need to clarify that nothing has been comfortable with thickly padded shorts and having the saddle correctly positioned has made all the difference, no matter what it has been.

O rly? Really, really need to drop by as I know the owners son and he's got a WSD madone he keeps threating to sort me out with at cost.
Feel slightly odd about him giving me an arse verdict though!!

I love my B17 but now it's well and truly worn in the rivets are somehow eating all of my trousers. Jeans I've had less than a month now have matching holes either side of my derrière :(

I have nothing to add but just wanted to say "YO! Jess!" :)

Amazers.

Ooh yeah, meant to ask you about how that saddle were working out. Di you use it with padding on Sat?

Yep I had my Lycra on, but I've been riding it without plenty and it's great. Both the other saddles I've tried have made me uncomfortable to the point of tantrum before! This one seems to lift you right up (without changing your position) so that your weight is just on on your bum bones so feels like just sitting normally on a chair.
-

I feel your point of tantrum (tears) pain. Not literally though. That would be wierd.

London Fields Cycles have got a bunch of saddles discounted in one of the their bargain bin at the moment, quite a few womens road and mtb ones.

Just got a fizik vesta.. initial impression is that it feels great, but haven't had it long enough to test it out properly ..

The Vesta look to be the women version of the Aliante, will look into, thank for mentioning it.

I would read up thread Shoosh - lots of good suggestions me thinks.
Mine's a Fizik Arione Donna and it's fantastic for me.

I had my Brooks robbed on Fri night....it was locked on so they must have cut the saddle rails???
I think it was a B67s - off an old Pashley anyway. I need to replace it and am thinking Brooks again (bike has moved into boat - getting it in/out is an ordeal but my baby is safe at least!). I'm not sure whether I want a B17 or a Flyer (the B67 was too big for my riding position on this bike). Does the s (short) help or hinder? I heard it was something to do with not catching a skirt....I wear a lot of miniskirts and could use something to stop it falling over the back of the saddle and hiding my rear light. Thoughts please!

I might be selling a Selle Italia Diva flow, white, 152mm wide. BNIB £58
http://www.rosebikes.co.uk/article/selle-italia-diva-gel-flow/aid:416633Since I'm here I may as well spam. :)
It probably isn't too well known yet that I'm setting up an online bike shop very soon, and want to give LFGSS people the best prices I can.
If there's anything you need, drop me a line and I'll see if I can get it on a good price for you. I have access to a lot of new bikes and parts, clothing and accessories etc.
I'm running it through Cyclis so either pm there, or straight to me.I should be able to beat most prices hopefully.

at the lower end of the market... Specialized discontinued the Windie XC which was my saddle of choice, after quite a lot of faffing around I recently got a Riva (women's version) as replacement. The faffing was partly cos it only comes in a 155mm whereas I had the 143mm before, but it feels pretty good.
It's cheap (£25 full price), and like the Windie XC a good all-purpose saddle for various riding positions. The main difference is fewer seams (+) and a less slippy covering (-), it grips clothing almost like a suede cover, which I'm not really a fan of... might lessen with wear. Not the lightest, but good value.
Cycle Surgery, Evans and, I think, On Your Bike.
