There was an army recruitment advert on the TV recently which was so similar to parts of COD Black Ops it's like the director wasn't even trying to hide the fact he was glamorising war.
Also reminds me of an episode of Never Mind the Buzzcocks when Simon Amstel told of how he once did a voice over for an army recruitment advert and said to someone there, 'I feel bad that I'm recruiting people to go off to war and die'. The woman replied, something on the lines of 'don't worry, it's only the lowest rungs of society who reply'.
