That might do for now if I can borrow it, There's a funn stem on chain reaction for £11 that looks pretty tough but also weighs a tonne.

You're welcome to a borrow. Trade you a loan if I could try those knee pads you mentioned you had spare, if they work I'll sort the beer payment out.
-
• #3530
I'll bring them on Thursday, a gentle reminder would be useful though.
-
• #3531
You need the stem before that so you can get it mounted? If not I'll bring down Thursday, with any luck I'll be dual brake by then :-)

This one ought to do it
cheers Ronnie

I might pop round before, Em's still got my bike at the moment so I'll wait until I get that back.

Anyone know the best place to purchase cordura from? Or a similar fabric? Preferably with the waterproof PU coating on one side but not essential...
-
• #3535
If you want it cheap try Abakhan on Oldham st, about £7 a kilo... Or try profabrics.co.uk about £10 a metre...
-
• #3536
Wanted: beater wheels and break levers for straight bars
-
• #3537
Didnt think Abakhan sold it, cheers! I'll pop in tomorrow!

Anyone got a 1" carbon bung/compressor for a carbon steerer tube? I'm desperate and will do anything for one, ANYTHING!

can you compress your headset it using threaded rod or something, remove it and then run it with no topcap?

Exotic had the best prices when I had a look, just not sure what they've got in stock at the moment:
http://www.carboncycles.cc/?s=0&t=2&c=70&p=636&
Considerably cheaper than a Hope and a little lighter.
EDIT: Or this is a little less expensive:
-
• #3544
It's 2/3rds the price of a Hope HeadDoctor so I don't see it as that bad, especially when a starnut and top cap cost around £3 for a hell of a lot less engineering.
-
• #3545
It isn't that bad, it's just the wrong size. The M:Part is the bit he wants, I know as these are my forks we're talking about.

• #3548
jajaja no... but I want to protect my face of fallings like the other day one... and this was cheaper than a hockey helmet
This is what is danger!

wow £16, thats well good.
looks like you could remove the face part too if you wanted to -

Yup, chin guard is removable. Worse than that, the price goes down another 10% at midnight: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Information.aspx?TranslationLargeID=26 <- Sale Details
I'm seriously considering the large, currently at £17 it should be at £15.30 if I order just after midnight. Feeling lucky? Try waiting until Friday when it would hit full discount and sub £14!
Rob - I've got that short arse black stem I was trying to flog. Hardly super strong but would work as a stop gap if you need it for a week or two.
