Oddly, I was thinking about clipless myself earlier. I'm not a big fan of the SPD-SL's I have on my geared bike.
Heretic! Burn him

You like them, or is it the fact that I'm using them?
-
• #26229
I like them. I'm now using speedplay though because of my crazy coach convincing me that midfoot is the way to go..

I could probably do with my cleats being further back. The balls of my feet go numb after 15 miles or so. Of course, it could be that the shoes aren't a good fit, but having moved the cleats around a bit, the numbness is better than it used to be. I find them difficult to clip into sometimes too.

After using speed plays for a few hundred miles I'm converted.
Not very good at the audax on Saturday as they are now full of mud, I'll be cleaning them up tonight along with my bike, thank god It's TI though!!

Can't tell where calf ends and ankle begins...
Maybe because it's not in shot? Fattist!
I have lovely ankles.. well I did.. before I went to midfoot and then failed to clip in numerous times, gouging large pieces of flesh from around my ankle bones.

Been having some knee pain, a friend said he'd switched to flats & strps and it had eased up. Thought I'd give it a go....
I fitted flats and straps to a Scissor. It's one of the stupidest fucking thing I've ever done. Absolutely hate it, especially brakeless. I'll maybe save my knees, but also get a stroke when I hit Highgate.

SPD I reckon. Cleats almost never wear out and you can bash them and bash them and they keep on working. Cheap too.
I have one pair of SPDs I found on an abandoned rusty bike. I had to use wire brush and dremel to clean them up. They worked flawlessly (also worn out cleats with one bolt missing).
My knees just didn't agree with me on the whole SPD thing. -

.
I meant the clip and strap being the quickest and easiest solution, whether clipless can be complex if you're having issue

how long till easter eggs?
-

Couple in front of me at the (fuel) garage last night were buying massive easter eggs, dude had to try and scan them through the glass because they wouldn't fit through the gap.

Rollers much different? More likely to face plant?
More likely in the sense that it is just about possible, but really very unlikely. Usually the worst case of riding off the rollers is an ungainly sideways topple.

Easter Eggs: I bought two for one of my girfriend's favourite type about a month ago. Perhaps longer...

Not sure if this needs it's own thread:
I'm using a fucking big excel spread sheet and I want to get the entries ordered by date.
I've used the dd.mm.yyyy format.
Dates before: (a) the tenth of the month or (b) October are listed as single digits e.g. 1.11.2010, 11.1.2010
The problem is it lists 8.11.2010 next to 8.1.2011 (instead of 9.1.12010)
Is there an easy way to remedy this? Is this why some places do that retarded yyyy.mm.dd format?
-
• #26241
You can add your own sort format, that should set it straight.
-
• #26242
Or right click and format the cells so they are dated as you wish - then sort.
-
• #26243
When I right click none of the date options have [.] separators just dashes and slashes. Do I need to alter each and every date manually?
Also it listsdd-mm-yyyy
as well as
d-m-yyyy
What's the difference?

Ctrl+H
Find What: .
Replace With: / -

Hopefully you haven't spent the last 16 minutes doing that manually.

• #26249

Just make sure you highlight the date columns first.
SPD I reckon. Cleats almost never wear out and you can bash them and bash them and they keep on working. Cheap too.
