Depends on the experience of the organiser I guess. How much benefit did Jono get from NS taking placings from the London Open last year? None I imagine. How much did Brighton get? A bit (I'd like to think). You want to do a 5 team invitational tournament, go for it. We won't count NS points for it though because it's not what we're about.
I can't speak for everyone who'll play in a NS event (obv) but it means just as much to me personally. All we did is drop one of the scores off. If you win 3 tournaments you're still the fucking dons of UK bike polo. What more can you possibly want? A good surface? Well that would limit the tournaments that could happen because nobody has a 'UKHBPA approved court'. I'd rather go to Brum and play a tournament than not go at all because their surface has a 3 degree slope and is too granular (sitting at home watching scores on Challonge is lamer than bike polo).
