Sunday is most definitely for riders that already race. It's largely pointless to do such specific training if you don't.
All the sprinters have targets at either national and/or world masters competition, they are also all coached riders in that they have training plans with their sessions tailored individually.
For riders who think they would like to try pursuiting or sprinting, then Monday night race training will give you some experience, as will Wednesday nights and the monthly open racing.
Not wishing to put anyone off by any means, but simply turning up and attempting to join in with someone else's training may not necessarily be the best thing for riders with little or no racing experience. I appreciate there's a perceived gap in progression from intermediate bunch training to sprint training but this is amply covered by Mondays, where you will learn the important safety issues which come in to play when doing efforts in a line of riders at full speed.
