it's not.
get a star nut fitted (or use what you are already using if you're not replacing forks too) and be happy

There's a SFN in the steerer already. Would like to try the head doctor out. I "read" they're pretty "neat".
Meh.

I found this thread again with google by searching "hope headset doctor". I am famous.
The guy ended up sending it later (got it today). Good ebaying!

Ha! That would be slimey. They do for for 10 to 15 quid, though ;)
Nah - I've already installed it and am going to try it out.

Three years later. Are head doctors still shit? Wiggle's customers say they're great, but what say you?

I love head doctors. Very simple to install, very simple to adjust, and rarely need readjusting.
Plus they come in pretty colours.
Bitches love pretty colours.
etc.

No pretty colours left at Wiggle which was just as well as the colours wouldn't have gone with my all-black stealth look. Bit of a fiddle to install :/ think that was mostly due to me not really being much of a mechanic, though.
Took me several minutes to figure out that to get it to slide into the steerer you need to squeeze it laterally which on reflection is a fairly obvious observation :/

I have 2 doctors and loving em. No complains, does what is said on the package, simple to install, simple to remove, worth every penny.

Head Doctors, like all Hope kit, just works. Full stop. And the warranty is no quibble.

I sheared the bolt on mine last week, through my own stupidity. They sent a new one in the post the next day. Going to fit it tomorrow and hopefully not balls it up this time.

Fitted. Very simple and effective if you give it a moment's thought before wading in and torquing the wrong bolt with all your might.
Hope headsets come with a head doctor, right? I won one on eBay (advertised "as new"), but no head doctor included.
Having not used one, I'm not really sure if this is worth being annoyed about?
