In 1967, 1-7 August was designated as Clowns Week.
Given the suitability of a lo- pro for riding around the pot hole strewn roads of London's famous London, I have gone for Saturday, 4th August for the next outing of the uneven wheel brigade.
Meet 12 noon, for 12:30 depart, from Pret a Manger, 18 Hanover Street, W1S 1YN. The reason for this start point, is that there is some space outside to congregate, and maybe have a coffee with friends old and new.
Head north, to Oxford Circus, left Oxford Street, left Park Lane, left into Piccadilly, to Piccadilly Circus, through Leicester Square past the **Hippodrome, **then up to Cambridge Circus.
Head to Holborn, A40 to St. Pauls, Leadenhall Street, past **Lloyds of London, **Algate East, A13 to Limehouse, Canary Warf and your choice of Barclays, HSBC or Citi Group.
Back on A13 to Canning Town, head north up Manor Road, onto West Ham Lane, **"Cos I'm forever blowing bubbles," **close, but not too close to Olympic Village, an early supper/coffee stop, before taking the A11 back to central London.
If anyone knows a novelty shop in the West End where we can load up with neon wigs and bowler hats, pray tell, and we can add to itinery.
I am trying to persuade Bothwell to come along and apply the face paint for anyone who is interested, and hope to be able to get a limited addition spoke card sorted in time for our event.
Spread the word folks. These events always turn out to be a hoot, and it is apprecaited when there is a decent turn out.
Poots, you and Smiffy will have to draw lots for use of the mental Red for the day.
