I am putting together a bike for my sister and I need some wheels. There seems to be very little choice out there for 650 wheel size. I thought Id get to build some up myself, but it seems the few 650 rims out there are for full RRP. Which is way too much.
So far the only contender I have found is the "Miche Young wheelset" which can be had for £107 which seems alright. But what concerns me is that they are 20/24 spokes on what seems like a very lightly built rim. If the rims end up a little wonky for bump, I dont think id ever manage to true it out. every time ive tried to tension up a low spoke wheel (tried a few times in bike shop) its ended up all wavy when laterally true.
Shes not that heavy, around 40-45kg. But it needs to be durable for every day use and occasional goes by me, who weighs double that.
If anyone happens to have some 650c rims/wheels knocking about, let me know!
