having recently bought a frame sans forks I have now acquired a suitable pair that will be just the job if I can extend the thread on the steerer tube by about an inch further and then cut the surplus tubing off.....can this be done with a suitable die at home or is it a job for the professionals, also it's a standard 1" head tube with British threads so am I right in thinking 1" - 24tpi?
