    Tough sport innit

  • If enough support was shown for steher racing there is no reason it couldn't become a regular feature at Herne Hill!

It is a regular feature. If you mean more often, then you have to consider the impact of the noise on local residents (who complain) and the fact it's a niche part of the sport with very few who actually drive the motors and ride the bikes.

  • I would not call it a regular feature - the last steher race in Britain having been in 2008. There seems to be quite a lot of interest from people on here whenever this branch of the sport is mentioned. If people want to get involved then they would be more than welcomed by the British Pacing Association.
The authorities have done noise testing with the bikes and they were deemed to fall within an acceptable level, so the noise is not an issue.

  • Once a year is regular. Didn't say frequent...
Was it really 2008 the last time GF had the big motors out? How time flies.

  • just replace the truimph motorbike with the number 357 from finchley tube to oxford street station and you've got yourself an urban version mike

And a properly working brakes, I cannot stress this enough.
