  • Will I be able to buy a cheap iPad now the new one is out?

  • Ive been looking up ipad 2 prices in view of the new version. Not a huge difference yet though. Still over £350 for 16gb. Though ipad1 is around £150.
    Supply and demand innit?

  • Might just be worth going for an iPad 1 then.

  • As of next week the iPad 2 will be £279 I think

  • Still more than I'd like to pay though to be honest.

  • wish I'd sold my ipad one a while ago now... :(

  • I'll buy it for good monies.

  • it's whatever the biggest one was... 32gb? 64? cannae remember.

  • 64... mac 2 sell says it's worth £210 :(

I'm still paying it off now, plus the missus would kill me selling something, to spend more money on (essentially) the same thing.

So for that reason, I'm out. (soz)

  • Why would you need 64gb?
Store stuff online. I'm using 16gb and have no issues with storage or access.

  • I know. I regretted it as soon as I realised there was no way of filling it.

Impulse purchase, with no real knowledge of how I was going to use it... Especially with netflix, there's no need to convert films and load it up. Bah.

  • Surely films even when you put them on the iPad can't take up that much space can they?

  • Some cheap ipad tips from Wired here:

Including the point about 16gb is all you'll need

  • Most iPad owners are going to have a iPhone, or at least a smartphone. Don't bother paying extra, just get the wifi versions. Then just set up a personal hotspot on your phone and have the iPad take data from your phone. Much cheaper way of doing it.

  • Some carriers (t-mobile) try to make you set up a seperate account thing for being a hot spot. I'm supposed to have unlimited data usage through my contract, but it won't let me share it through to my ipad.

depends how many you have ;)

Really? I'm with t-mobile and i can use my HTC as a personal hotspot at not extra cost

  • Yep I use my HTC in the same way, have done with the laptop too.

  • DFU mode?

Cant remember if a) that's what its called, or b) how to do it.
    Ta.

Managed to connect it to the house server and download itunes on that, and then the latest iOS - took internet connection for the rest of the building off for two hours but at least I got my phone back. And am now in the process of restoring to a previous backup (yesterday morning)

    maybe: #imdoingitwrong

i just get a screen to login to credit my 'hotspot account' or something...

  • See how that thing where you can find your iphone on a map and lock it/wipe it etc, how the hell do you do that? I remember having fun with it when I got my iphone but tried to show my gf today and couldn't figure it out. Seems like you maybe need an app now? Sure when I did it (last summer) it was just a case of doing something in itunes??

  • always has been an app
find my iphone / find iphone

  • always has been an app
find my iphone / find iphone

    Oh well.

    I've downloaded the app now.
I've heard pretty bad reports of icloud though so on my iphone, in settings>icloud I have everything other than Find My Iphone to off so that means nothings going to happen with my photos or contacts or calenders right?
