i couldve spent hours rooting around in his workshop. hes got tons of campag parts and loads of tools and trays with loaads of lugs , loads of wheels , a room with his bikes in there. his current track bike wich looks amazing , he also has the first frame he ever built set up as his winter bike. i think thats what finally got me sold. i give the man 400 quid and i get a frame that will last and last till im to old to ride it. his workshop was like heaven to a geek like me, i go for a 30 minute visit to chat about the frame i want and would spend 4 hours in there talking to him about all his gear and bikes and what he does .
i went down about 6 weeks ago and he had a cardboard box with my frames tubes in there, all newly machined un polished 531 tubes. wich was cool to see the thing like that ,and i chose my lugs . choosing the bottom bracket shell was ace , he pulled out this big beefy slightly rusty looking thing and handed it to me, i laughed at first cos it looked like something he found at the back of the workshop with mice living in it , when he handed it to me i tried my best to not look shocked nor worried, but after a good look at the thing hed assured me that for i fixed gear "road" bike , built to take a bit more abuse that a track frame normally would , i big fuck off heavy thick cast bb shell would better than the thinner lighter ones he had.
the prices on his site are for custom builds. mine cost 400 quid. i was going to buy a tokyo fixed s2 or a brother 531. in the end after much deliberation it just seemed stupid to not get a frame off mr goff ,
the masses of masses are questionable and need the kind of help i cant give.
sorry bout that.
