Wanted: 1" Headset to fit Raleigh

I have an old carlton and looking a new headset to fit it?

They are 26tpi, I believe, but I have seen shimano headsets used too?

help me out here lol

well its ok, bit corroded etc. I replaced it with a Shimano 600 cartridge set up but think they are rare as nowadays.

Hilary if I cant get update the headset I'll take one, will anything but a raleigh headset fit a 26tpi fork?

So will a 105 headset fit? same as a 600 headset harv?

weird a 26tpi fork fits a shimano that I presume is 24 tpi, or am I getting confused?

If your fork has 26tpi threading only a Raleigh headset will fit. All other 1in headsets are 24 tpi.

I have the same query. My raleigh has a Shimano 600 headset. Does that mean it is 26 or 24 TPI on the steerer tube?
