Interesting... I've had a couple of goes on Robs bike and found it quite nicely geared. I certainly like the speed of engagement of that freewheel but that's a whole different kettle of financial ruin.
If you look at my block and the two rings I have the 22t seems to be closer to the mark than the 32:

If I go with the ghetto tensioner to get better chain line Will has mentioned having a load of spacers and cogs to go at. No reason I can't have 14t & 13t cogs and shift via the barrel adjuster on the mech depending on how I'm feeling.
