Hovercraft appreciation

I love Christopher Cockerell and his momentum curtain.
I hate that we don't have personal hovercrafts and lament that the only journey by hovercraft in the UK is currently to the Isle of Wight.

This Hovercraft is the bane of my life on weekend mornings (and summer afternoons). It goes so slowely into the landing at Southsea and really gets in the way of our rowing race pieces. It always arrives at the wrong time, and just dilly dalys there's causing a wash and making a huge gust.

/Hates hovercraft's, but would love to own one of those small ones.
