  • 52/15 isn't that much more of a step up from 48/14.

    BRING IT!

  • Oh, and I'll hopefully have my bike computer by the weekend. Need to hit 40mph. It's been a long time coming.

  • This is turning into some sort of a race! I can safely say, I will not be racing. If you want to go to The Case, make sure you bring cash, as they don't take debit cards.

  • When was it not a race? ;)

  • You've basically gone up one gear inch, I'd go 52/14 which would give you 98 ; )

  • A few more weeks of squatting then maybe :D

  • Flipped over to 48/15 for my college commute. It's fully in the dropouts. Didn't even pull the wheel to tension the chain and it's tight as fuck (maybe even too tight). ~4mm of tyre clearance. Kind of nervous about changing to the 52t and not getting such hot results.

  • Haven't you got anymore links?

  • I have more links. But I mean, this is slammed as hard as possible AKA the nicest looking and feeling. Most likely won't get the same results with another gearing set up.

  • So what do you do iy you get a puncture on the road?

    [/QUOTE]

  • Take the wheel off, take out the innertube, put in a new innertube, pump it up. I don't see how this would affect fixing punctures? I do agree that getting the chain off the chainring may be tough but I have tools I can jam in the chain and wiggle it off with.

  • I'm putting this thread on ignore. If I see any more discussion of gear ratios and that red chain again I will gouge my eyes out.

  • Its PINK! ;)

  • If you put this thread on ignore then how will you know when I've finally got a non-coloured chain? :O

  • It could be a problem to remove the wheel if it was genuinely at perfect tension when your wheel is slammed in the dropouts. It's a pain in the ass to try to remove the chain at least in my experience. You may just have the perfect slack to slide a link off of one tooth, then turn the cranks so the chain slips off. Not the best thing in my opinion.

  • If you have to resort of forcing it out, tis' not good

  • It's a beast chain. It's not going to damage it.

  • a **pink **beast chain

  • I got my self a Izumi chain from Broadribbs in Leamington, hopefully treats me as well as the shop have

  • How much did that set you back?

  • Only cost me about £14

I got £345 worth of stuff on Monday but i only paid £260, they treat me good!

  • Sweet! Nice man. Might have to go there when I snap this chain getting it off! ;D
