  • I guess every one else will be riding fixed?

  • Yeah buddy!

  • Well i ride my road bike a bit like a fixed gear in a way

  • Pick a gear then tape over your gear levers so you can't change ;D

  • Then i can't cheat!

  • It doesn't matter what you ride :) It's just about riding and having some fun!

  • I'll have to practice my road bike skids so i can pretend its fixed :P

  • I'm away again this weekend. Bloody hell...

  • Sod fixie skidding. My knees aren't much cop for that!

  • Skids for emergencies only. I like having working knees! :D

  • Skids do get easier after a while, choosing certain parts help to, straining away on a high gear ratio seems to make my knees ache

  • So what's the route? I need to start my training ASAP!

  • Hah. I'm thinking something relaxed, as I have the Vaughans charity ride on Sunday (40 miler). How about meeting in Kenilworth?

  • What's this charity ride? Sounds fun!

  • Some info here:

I've signed up to the 40 mile ride, but we'll see how it goes!

  • Is it this route? http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/72953068/?open_ive_done=1&new_route=1

Do I have to sign up? Might join you. Riding fixed? Drafting partners.

  • i reckon we meet cov 12.30 starley statue then proceed via any route we choose to leamington meet joseph in leam then proceed somewhere else !!

  • ^^Yep, that's the route. I'm thinking maybe fixed. Got a buddy riding it too but I think we'll be taking it relatively easily. I'm not in the shape I was in last year!

  • Do I have to sign up? I think I might pop along too!

Yeah, sounds cool, I'll be awake by 1pm - I hope!

  • How about we meet at the Starely statue, ride out to Kenilworth and meet Joseph/A&P and anyone else there and do Rouncil lane or something like that. Nice quiet country roads out to the west of Kenilworth. Could even head up to The Case for a pit stop ;) (they take cash only).

    Something like this maybe?

  • Looks good. Especially the last part. Sprint finish! :D

  • It's not very clear from that, but suggesting the start is head west and then north, then back down Red Lane.

  • Ok. Let's get this organised!

Meet 12:30 at Starley Statue. Ride out to Kenilworth to meet Joseph, A&P and anyone else coming over from Leamington for about 1/1:15pm at the Starbucks on the hill.
