80s Saracen 531c lugged & brazed touring frame for the taller gent. Has some nicely cut & pierced lugs. Blasted (glass bead) and powder coated last year, been sat here since waiting for a new home since.
Seen on 27" wheels with ~28c tyres, mudguards will fit with ease on either 27" or 700c.
64cm ctt Top tube.
58cm ctc Seat tube
frame = 531c main triangle, unknown stays, presume 531 (?)
forks = 531 with shimano SF dropouts & SCM crown.
130mm rear spacing
100mm front spacing
english BB threads.
26.8mm seat tube
Tange Allez headset included, has a bit of corrosion on surface (cleans up with wire wool) and races have a little wear but races & bearings have plenty of life left in them (no pitting).
Weight (F&F) 2.8kg, not too bad for such a large frame.
Mudguard/rack eyelets front & rear.
powder coated in Grey RAL 7043 "traffic grey b", looks about light/mid grey in sunlight and a darker grey in low light, MATT FINISH.
However frame had a minor top tube dent (TT dent photo) was filled with polyester (had to special order it on recommendation from a powder coating company) car filler and turned out to be a bad batch of filler/hardener which has reacted/ blistered with the heat of the ovens. In an obvious place on the top tube, but to try and rectify it properly would mean blasting it off and re-coating. Dent is not structural problem, rest of frame is straight & true, but it does stand out under direct sunlight.
