Icebreaker! Great stuff, really comfortable, used for cycling and skiing.

so as i said previously bought some planet x merino. ive got a problem though...they stink! like burning hair. fine when worn before a ride, absolutely stinking after a ride. its not a body odour smell the whole thing stinks like burnt hair. anyone else have this problem?

There is a thread on Bikeradar noting exact same issue but seems to be random what products affected (bad batches?) and that after several washes it will go

Finnisterre base layer - first impressions - not great - it's gone kinda fuzzy and looks like it will 'bobble' up after washing - plus it's not close fitting enough, and it's quite thick and weighty, it's more like a mid-layer. It is nice, just not what I was hoping for really. Have to say nothing I've tried has come close to the Icebreaker stuff

eightball, try the planet-x stuff...the 120gm is perfect for cycling. wicks really well and very comfortable. apart from the smell :) i think this is an intermittent problem though so you may get lucky. you could have 3 of em for the price of one finisterre! the baa baa is ok but the material feels weird and the cut is strange.

the wet sheep smell fades after a few washes - maybe the burnt hair thing is something to do with the way they bleach the white ones? it'll go though.
