I accept what you're saying Wayne, but I would point out that people are admiring the speed and looks here, not the projected slaughtering capabilities of each aircraft.
Tigers look awesome, but I'd not want to cuddle one.

I find that the naked bodies of some ladies can be extremely aesthetically pleasing. I am sure that others on this forum share my appreciation. I am also sure that if we decided to start a thread with pictures of naked ladies on it based upon our aesthetic appreciation, we would be shot down in flames before we left the runway.
Just sayin'.

Thread derailments are pointless. I imagine all those who have such a strong opinion on it regularly act upon their morals and campaign appropriately (bike forums not included).
The rapid development of all technologies in the last hundred years is predominantly down to the defense industry so everyone sat in front of their computers or responding via their iphones owes it to WW2 codebreaker Alun Turing. Travelling abroad this summer? Frank Whittle of the RAF deserves some thanks. Phone in your pocket?Motorola developed the first Walkie Talkie and mobile telephone for the U.S. Military.
Equal opportunities? Post WW2 was massively improved on a variety of fronts due to responsibilities gained through war.Do not confuse my argument. I am not condoning war or genocide or anything else. The defense industry will always exist and always receive more money than it deserves in comparison to health, education and pretty much everything else. Whilst it does this, the innovation of this industry allows for is invaluable. Furthermore, it is often the case that the industry is the platform for the development of technology that is simply too expensive for private investment.
I think that these are incredible (it is an aircraft)
http://www.chinook-helicopter.com/Vertical.jpgPersonally, I don't like the fashion thread. Or the one about trainers. That industry arguably does a lot a damage to the world too.

For once "Margaret Thatcher's Penis" seems all too apt.

I bloody love you, Clive, I agree in what you're saying, I would love but better not.
So, why don't you open for example "Objects and stuff that naked woman can wear for that" I'm sure it will be pretty exciting to post in there, not only for me.
Just joking, Clive.

Don't be confused between cookies and vitriol.
Still only for Clive.

Great logic. Why is military reference not censored then?
-
• #312
Because kids must learn that killing is good.

Why is this?

When people start posting pictures of Preditor drones and going "phwar!" then I'll join-in the hatin'.
Until then, I'm happy to to perv over fighter planes.

Yes, one can only imagine how lucky someone feels when they are in this situation.
Jesus fucking wept. These are killing machines, not toys to get hard ons over.
^This.
This thread only shows how fucking ridiculous things are getting lately. -

XB-70 never entered service, Tu-160 has never fired a shot in anger. An-225 is a stretched version of the An-124 military transport, but both types have delivered more humanitarian aid than weapons. My hands are clean too :-)
Pretty much every text post on this thread is a statement of things which should go without saying, but I suppose that's a description of 90% of teh internetz.

as previously mentioned, logical extension of air delivered death
is phwoar a step too far..?

There's still a man in the loop. If you have an issue with the target selection, take it up with the man, not the machine.

I googled "fighter planes naked women" hoping to find an image that would manage to upset everyone. I found instead that picture of the girl in Vietnam who was napalmed and stripped off her clothes to try to stop the burning. It upset me.

I think this is the first time I have felt disgust towards forum members.
Quite simple - the car thread isn't titled, *Cars equipped with rocket launchers the function of which is to kill people *
as has been pointed out - this is a 'community' forum where the flip of the fetishising/appreciation of death machines enables other forum users to depict the consequences of said machines
