if no one is going to answer you, you'll have to work it out for youself
Sheldon gives some good info:

I've used a 344 the wrong way round with Stronglight 49Ds and an Normandy fixed hub and it gave a decent line. The length of the drive side on the 314 is 19mm; the length of the non-drive side of the 344 is 19mm.
Sheldon, again, has the TA diagram.

Luckily I am the proud owner of a couple of 314's now. I for use and one for when I kill it.
Me too!

..... And 3 chainsets, nuff cups, some rings, a sack of bolts and some tools.
TA parts should not be entered into lightly...
Marxist - start going to jumbles, TA tends to be cheaper and more widely available there than online. -

Sorry to drag up an old thread, I just bought a TA 314 BB off Hilary, it's a loose cup one but didn't come with bearings. Anyone know how I ascertain what size I need? Always had sealed BB's before now.
Would a 344 axle be a total disaster for the chainline?..I know getting a 314 is best but they are difficult to find.
A 314 axle=111.5mm and a 344 axle=116mm. A total of 4.5mm difference which equates to 2.25mm on the drive side. Could i use a washer to move the sprocket out 2.25mm as a counterbalance to the extra width of the 344 axle? Alternatively, will 2.25mm make that much of a difference? Its just that 344 are much easier to source than the 314 BB/axle.
