Don't know for sure, I heard it was cancelled last week due to wind, which logically would mean that it's back on... Weather looks ok today? However, triple F***!!! I had forgoten about track and I am on the wrong bike today, wearing jeans, kinda "smart" leather shoes, and shirt! I could maybe get away with it by going to the crapy sport shop on the high street and get some cheap trainers and a tee-shirt... I can take of the clamp on brake once in HH, and borrow an helmet? Then finally I am on 68 gear inches!!
I really want to go, or I will keep missing the track week after week... Do you reckon I can make it exceptionaly on 68GI?

I never win anyway, it would not make much of a difference... :) -

I will be giving tonight a miss given the state of me after Saturdays crash. Need to sort my rear wheel out and double check everything else. May just strip and re-build the bike to make doubly sure i've not missed anything like the crabon steerer tube :-s

So, anybody, 68GI, is it a big no? Would really prefer using my bike rather than the rental ones...

68 GI would be unpleasant I think.

Unpleasant, but "legal"... Will try to come, we'll see..

I was there for only 20 minutes, could not get out of work early enough... On 68 GI, and wearing jeans, was not great, but OK though...
The new surface is definetly neat, although to be honnest I did not feel too much difference from before... I had the wrong bike though, shit tyres that I could not inflate more than 115PSI when I am usually on 140PSI, I suppose that would maybe make a difference... Anyway I was glad I could go even for a short time...
Oh, and the "middle inside ring" is a good addition, being late I had to join the devil race after they had started... JC asked me to join from the inside as opposed to the outside (as before) which is safer as you are not on the rider's way when they are sprinting near the finish line...
JC advised next monday would be the last monday training due to being too dark too soon, and I realised later that I would miss it, my parents are over so won't be able to make it... No track for me until next year? ARHHGGG

just been riding the bournemouth track in the dark, hope vision 2 on the bike,
2 impressions- riding with it on wide angle, loads of potential for interval training, and pretty much any exercise where riders are spread around the track.
riding with lights focused on the wheel ahead, absolootely nuts, no ability to see anything ahead other than the couple of feet in front of you, would require another whole level of skill/ insanity.anyone else ride any other tracks at night.?

So, when's the next Monday night session? Website says 2nd April, which is the second Monday after the clocks change, so sounds about right...

The website is frequently updated so there's no reason to doubt it.

Hi, im looking for recommendations on tracks within the London area, it would be nice to get off the roads and onto a track where i can measure my performance and times. Any help is appreciated.

Where are you (my guess is Croydon)? Herne Hill has got to be the best option for most Londoners.
-
• #1044
Bear in mind that most Herne Hill sessions are for group riding rather than individual timing.
-
• #1045
Maybe buy a watch? Time yourself over 10k or whatever else it is you fancy???
-
• #1046
Hogg Hill would be better for solo performance stuff
-
• #1047
just check it's not booked for a race before you go.

Thanks, I was mis-informed! I left my helmet home anyway...
It's listed on the website, so I'd assume it was.
