  • Discussed at the meeting at Angelo's to have a beginners night on the 5th April, from 7.30-9.30. With perhaps 15 minutes before hand people playing games (showing off).

Is there anybody who can design the flyers for this (I have no artistic talent whatsoever)?

I am happy to get them printed and then everyone can distribute them!

  • Mite be able to do them, though i have a tendency to get carried away with things like this... what are the details? Are there going to be beverages? Its there a fee? Ha anyone got the Cambridge polo guy in a decent format they can send me/memory stick it for me. When do we want it by?

  • That would be great Glyn!

I am not sure on the format, maybe we can all discuss it at the next polo session! I will get quotes on the printing.

Someone must have the 'cambridge polo guy' in a decent format....

  • Is the indecent format with his penis flopping out, not appropriate ?

  • If we want beginners to actually turn up, i imagine not...

  • General format ideas Most can be worked out nearer the time.

7.30-9.30 on the 5h of April. From 7pm demonstration
    3 quid on the night
Bring your own bikes (we will have bikes to lend out but better just to say bring your own bikes)
Sign up through cambridge polo email address (Bogey can confirm the address and has access so can probably monitor who signs up?).

Is that enough information Glynn for the flyer?

  • Guys, how is this all going? Think it's a great idea. Hopefully be able to get the girls came to that ladies day the other weekend to come to it.

  • This looks really cool. Shame ill be back home over April :( hopefully this will go down well and I can catch the next one.

I think we are aiming it at absolute beginners, new people?!? Maybe we can organise another girls only day/night seperately.

Glynn any progress on leaflets, sorry you have been dropped in the deep end on this. BTW also signed up what a mess to the brighton tournament in June (we can always find another third if you can't make it)

Will try and make it down on tuesday (dependent on bad cold) and can disuss organisation for this!

  • Yea, got it penciled in my mental diary for this Saturday, so as long as i remember to do it il have it done. I know what im gonna do so it shouldnt take too long. Im also gonna vector that image luca posted up so in future we can make it massive if we want...
Not too sure about Brighton, june is pretty busy for me, il have a look.

  • just threw this up on th website, any comments/additions appreciated. Glyn there were are couple things discussed in the meeting about the poster re showing newcomers what bike polo actually might look like and black and white poster. Sorry I changed it completely .. and Josh didnt even get on it!

  • Haha thats all good, the poster i put up wasn't the final one i did, it was more for fun. | did one with a redrawn polo guy with stabilisers and stuff but i didn't get chance to get my memorystick to monique. I think your poster is more suitable, as it makes it seem a bit more serious. Also I think if people know in advance that Josh will be there himself it might attract too many polo groupies and paparazzi.

  • . Also I think if people know in advance that Josh will be there himself it might attract too many polo groupies and paparazzi.

    Tis true!

Flyers are on my desk if anyone wants to distribute, will bring to polo this evening!

  • Sorry to hijack but:
Ladies taster session - Monday 26th March 7pm

  • Yep will be there, should be a good night and great to get more girls involved!

  • Just thought we should bump this thread and remind anyone interested in starting up Bike Polo that there's a tournament this weekend in the warehouse on Harvest Way which will be much fun to watch and figure out what you're aiming for on Thursday.

So come along, and don't forget to come to the beginners night on the 5th

  • Quick bump. We talked last night about what we need to bring individually to help make this work, so...

    1) Bring any spare helmets, knee pads, gloves etc that you might have kicking about at home.
    2) Bring any spare flat pedals of any type and the right tool to change pedals around on the night.
    3) Allen keys so we can adjust seat posts.
    4) Yourself, at about 6:45 if possible. We need to have enough for a few 'exhibition' style games to show off polo at 7 til 730, and a few on the sidelines explaining to the visitors what's going on and to answer questions.

So, who will be down at 6:45?

    1. Tom (no key, Luca has it)
      2.
  • 2.Chris , I'm off all day if anything else needs setting up etc ( no key either )

  • 3.jim (no key)

    1. max

i can pring pedals + allen keys + might have a spare helmet.
can only get there at about 7.20 due to facking train times!

  • 5.luca (i have bogeys key, getting new one cut tomorrow)

    1. lee (i don't have a key but thought i would share as everyone is talking about keys)
    1. Glyn (i have no key either but i do have some flat pedals for my bike for the night)
    1. SUPERSTAR (i have a key and am alright at polo, no flat pedals though, because they are bang off trend)
