Seatclamp bolts for old 531 frames

Posted on
  • Hi there,
I have two old 531 steel frames that have rounded seat clamp bolts. I can cut them off with a hacksaw but I need replacement bolts. Are they all the same size? and where can I ge them from? should I just pop around to my LBS?

    Thanks,

  • im sure any bolt will do. its just to squeeze some pressure onto the seat post

  • go to an lbs that handles old bikes, are you in london?

maybe measure the roughly required length first

  • SJS cycles do spares too

  • I'm in bristol, I'll just head along to the lbs with both frames at the weekend. Thanks guys

there are a few (3) different sizes/ fittings of bolt. You could measure and order, but easier to just take it down to a decent shop that has old stuff ;)

  • I bought one from Freemans Cycles, mail order. It was pretty cheap and turned up pretty quickly.
