Given the choice between the two I'd chose Torres over Carroll any day, only because he has some quality which is what's lacking with Carroll. You can't teach a first touch. Torres might come good (or at least half decent again) whereas Carroll never was any good, he'll just stay the mediocre championship striker that he always was.
Well done to the Yanks for getting 50 million quid from Roman A though.
