Stolen bikes

This makes me feel very uneasy about locking my bike at lcc (i study there).
Every day i lock up either my ratbike (oversize track frame with sugino 75s easton ec90's hed 3 etc) or my carbon road bike. Ive never had any problems there having losked there for the past three years.

What locks were being used?
Were they locked to the railings of the actual bike racks?

just trawled through this thread and realised i had never replied: my bike was locked to the railings not the rack, and the lock was a cable one and was pants. Have since replaced my bike and got myself a couple of brutal U Locks. I wouldn't feel worried about locking it up if you have decent locks though tbh, i was just stupid
